On Sunday
15 July 2001, a woman (Joanne Lee's) and her boyfriend Peter Marco
Falconio were driving in their orange Kombi van, when they were
pulled over by a 4WD vehicle. The driver was believed to be armed and dangerous,
and attempted to abduct the woman, but she escaped. Her male companion
has not been seen since and grave fears were held for his safety. Despite
a Police net and massive publicity, they failed to find 'the suspect'.
A reward for information has been offered, but this case remains unsolved.
